These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ChriSwim Journal, a swimming training and performance tracking platform operated by Purpletail OÜ ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using our service, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Account Registration and Use

Account Creation

• Accurate Information: You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password
• Age Requirements: Users under 16 require parental consent to create an account
• One Account: Each user may maintain only one active account

Acceptable Use

You agree to use ChriSwim Journal only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not:

• Use the service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
• Interfere with or disrupt the service or its servers
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to other user accounts
• Upload malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Data Ownership and Privacy

Data Processing

By using our service, you consent to:

• Processing of your personal data as described in our Privacy Policy
• Storage of your data on secure servers within the European Union
• Use of your aggregated, anonymized data for service improvement
• Communication from us regarding service updates and account matters

Service Availability and Modifications

Service Availability

• Uptime: We strive to maintain 99.9% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service
• Maintenance: We may perform scheduled maintenance with advance notice
• Support: Technical support is provided via email during business hours

Service Modifications

• We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the service
• We will provide 30 days' notice for major changes affecting functionality
• New features may be added without notice
• We may impose usage limits or restrictions as necessary

Multi-User Features

Coach Access

• Swimmer Consent: Coaches can only access swimmer data with explicit consent
• Professional Use: Coach accounts are intended for legitimate coaching purposes
• Data Protection: Coaches must protect swimmer data and use it responsibly
• Account Termination: We may terminate coach accounts for misuse of swimmer data

Parent Access

• Child's Consent: Parent access requires the swimmer's permission via sharing tokens
• Limited Access: Parent accounts have read-only access to authorized data
• Age Restrictions: Different rules apply for swimmers under 16
• Revocable Access: Swimmers can revoke parent access at any time

Intellectual Property

User License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:

• Access and use the service for personal or professional swimming-related purposes
• Download and store your own data for backup purposes
• Share your data with coaches and parents as permitted by the platform

You may not:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the service
• Copy, modify, or create derivative works of the platform
• Use our trademarks or branding without written permission
• Resell or redistribute access to the service

Limitation of Liability

Account Termination

Termination by You

• You may terminate your account at any time through account settings
• You can request complete data deletion upon termination
• Termination is effective immediately upon request

Termination by Us

We may terminate or suspend your account if you:

• Violate these Terms of Service
• Engage in abusive or harmful behavior
• Fail to pay required fees (if applicable)
• Provide false information during registration
• Remain inactive for more than 2 years

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will:

• Post the updated Terms on our website
• Send email notification to registered users
• Display a notice in the application
• Provide at least 30 days' notice for material changes

Your continued use of the service after any changes indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Estonia. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Estonian courts.

For users in other EU countries, you retain the right to bring proceedings in your local courts in accordance with EU consumer protection regulations.
